ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAMS

 



In order to provide additional academic challenge and educational opportunity for students of exceptional ability, Scranton Prep offers several programs of advanced studies.
1. Seven Year Program
Students can be graduated from Prep and the University of Scranton in a seven-year period. Courses at Prep in Advanced American History, A.P. Biology, A.P. Calculus, A.P. Chemistry, A.P. Physics, English, Greek, Latin, Math, and modern foreign languages will be accepted by the university for credit under mutually agreed upon conditions.
2. Advanced Placement Program
Scranton Prep participates in the Advanced Placement Program of the College Entrance Examination Board. Courses designated “A.P.” follow the CEEB syllabi. These courses are intended to provide college-level courses to superior students. At the conclusion of each course, students take the A.P. test of the CEEB (for a fee). Participating colleges offer credit, placement or both to students based on their score on the A.P. test. Scranton Prep offers the following A.P. courses:
